Packaging Design

Packaging designed for the shelf it will sit on and the machine that will print it — structure, artwork, mandatory copy and print-ready dielines.

Overview

It has to sell before it is read

Packaging carries a strange double job: win a two-second glance from three metres away, then reward the person who picks it up and turns it over. Designs that only do the second job never get picked up.

We work from the real shelf context, design the front for distance and the back for detail, get the mandatory copy right for the markets you sell in, and deliver dielines your converter can print without emailing questions.

What's included

Shelf & competitor review

How the category looks in the aisle, and what it will take to stand out in it.

Structure & dieline

Pack format, material and dieline built with your converter's limits in mind.

Front-of-pack hierarchy

Brand, variant and benefit ordered so all three read from three metres.

Mandatory & regulatory copy

Ingredients, nutrition, barcodes and market-specific labelling, checked.

Print-ready artwork

Separations, spot colours, varnish and a proof approved before the run.

How we work

Shelf, structure, artwork, print

  1. Category study

Photograph the real shelf and analyse what the category already owns.

  2. Concept

Routes shown as mockups at shelf distance, not as flat artwork.

  3. Range build

Roll the chosen route across every variant and pack size.

  4. Pre-press

Dielines, separations, regulatory check and a signed printed proof.

What you get

  • Shelf & category analysis
  • Structural dielines
  • Full range artwork
  • Regulatory copy check
  • 3D mockups for sell-in

The outcome

A pack that earns its place on shelf

A range that reads as a family, distinguishes its own variants without confusing anyone, satisfies the labelling rules of the markets you ship to, and prints correctly the first time.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle the regulatory text?

We lay it out correctly and check it against the labelling requirements of your markets, but the final content stays your responsibility — you own the formulation and the claims.

Can you work with our existing converter?

Preferably. Send their dieline template and print limitations up front and we design inside them, which avoids the redraw that usually follows a first submission.

How many variants can share one design?

As many as the system can distinguish at a glance — usually up to eight before shoppers start picking up the wrong one. Past that we split the range visually.

Do we get mockups for retail listings?

Yes, 3D renders for buyer presentations and e-commerce, produced from the same artwork so what the listing shows is what ships.
